Since 2014, I’ve presented two regular shows on KCLR in Kilkenny, the radio station broadcasting to Carlow and Kilkenny, Ireland (available online ). On Saturday mornings, from 7:00 to 10:00, I present the Breakfast Show. Since December 2017) I also present a twice weekly eclectic music show called “Ceol Anocht” (literally translated as ‘music tonight’) which airs every Tuesday and Thursday night at 10:00 p.m. The third hour of each show is dedicated to Irish artists and is presented as Gaeilge.
As well as the online editions of the programme which features the best of Irish music across all genres, I also host Studio 2 Sessions. You can find them here
On Sunday afternoons, from 2015 to 2017, I anchored the Sunday Scoreline show, a mix of music and up to the minute sports.
On Tuesday nights from August 2014 to November 2017 I presented the Folk/Roots show from 10:00 p.m. to midnight. It was a mix of folk, roots and Americana music, local, national and international. As well as the shows themselves I also have regular Studio 2 Sessions and interviews, featuring a variety of artists, local, national and international. I also produce and present Studio 2 Sessions in other genres. Once upon a time (from 2007 – 2014) I presented a show called “The Eclectic Light Programme” which featured mainly Irish acts which now pops up online occasionally…Also, my former traditional music show “Blas Glas” had some interviews and sessions from time to time. It ran from 2007 to 2014.
From 2005 to 2014, I presented a show called “People In Profile” which was a weekly one to one interview show with a wide variety of guests show shared stories of their lives and their musical tastes. Some shows are online
I have also produced a number of radio programmes since 2005: “Tobar An Cheantar”, an Irish language magazine programme and the religious affairs programme “Sunday Matters”. Since 2016, I am producer of the Glanbia Farm Show which airs every Thursday night at 19:00.
I work closely with a number of shows coordinating music guests, principally for KCLR Live and The Way It Is …I have also stood in on KCLR Live and The Way It Is over the years and on other music based programmes.
In 2019, I produced a documentary series called “Three Miles Over And Three Miles Down” which told the story of the Castlecomer coal mines and the stories of the miners and their families. You can find it online here
