
Here are sometimes random thoughts, occasional opinions, musings and a little back story.
I have occasionally written poetry and prose over the years and must acknowledge poet, playwright and novelist David Butler (formerly) of Carlow College in helping me to rekindle an interest in both, although the legendary English teacher John Dunleavy of Drimnagh Castle fuelled the fire first in the 1970s.
He always said that he would accept poetry in lieu of an essay, but only if it followed strict poetic forms. It was was harder than expected. He was both a taskmaster and an inspiration. I’ve moved away from the ballad and the sonnet (and many will be thankful I’m sure), but here are some random writings…
